A Musical Journey
Music has always been a part of my life, since I was a small boy.
When I got to my teenage years I felt I didn’t fit in, I was kicked out of mainstream school and sent away to a boarding school. I then took up music with my art teacher.
As I left school I found a career within transport and music was always my hobby, and I never really thought about it seriously. I got married had a family and worked all the time. Up until January last year where my whole life flipped upside down. I suffered from a severe spinal injury that went from me being a really active person to bed bound. My wife took care of me and the kids but suddenly we was all thrown unto so much uncertainty. The doctors had no idea what was going on. I felt I was going to lose everything I built. And there was nothing I could do about it, I was stuck in limbo. I had several hospital admissions and managed to get myself walking small distances again but I was desperate for an creative outlet, and to also see if I actually did have any talent. just by chance I happened to stumble across Dean who was setting up a studio in Liskeard. I was determined not to let this spinal injury define my me, so I rested for three days prior, and my wife took me in to Liskeard. The very first time I went in to see Dean I was in a wheelchair. I don’t think Dean knew what to expect. Since then, music has been my way of coping with my ongoing injury. Especially when I think back to how I used to be before, it can be mentally challenging. Doctors are still baffled by my circumstances but I will not let that stop me from doing what I love. And I think that I must have been on to something because my wife and Dean have
been supporting me ever since.
And now I have an album.
